While the admittedly generic campaign hits all the right notes, it clocks in at a mere 4-5 hours (the shortest in a series known for short campaigns). The multiplayer experience is laggy, the gun selection is poor, and maps are far too large and cluttered for the games 6-on-6 matches. Die-hard fans will squeeze some fun out of the games fundamentally sound core gameplay as always, but we should expect more from Infinity Ward. Instead, theyve taken a step back from Modern Warfare 3 and crafted what feels like Black Ops II with a new coat of paint and thats not a good thing.

Is Infinity Ward paying tribute, or just being over-economical?.
Here's a thing: a cutscene from Call of Duty: Ghosts appears to exactly replicate the motion capture and camera angles (though not the assets and textures) of part of the ending sequence from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Call of Duty Ghosts has been released, and it seems hype is not where it should be for a COD title. Mush from Duskbit has a chance to dabble in the game, and has talked to several other gamers about Call of Duty: Ghosts, and excitement seems at an all time low for the latest entry. Whether its from consumers saving up for the next generation of consoles, or this entry in the series moving away from the Modern Warfare tagline is unknown.

But after Ghosts, Infinity Ward will have to somehow rethink his Call of Duty, cause Black Ops 2 has clearly exceeded the "historic" Modern Warfare team already.
